Van and truck registrations still in doldrums

• Registrations: down 49.2% in May, down 31.4% to 271,761 for the rolling year.

• Trucks: down 44.0% in May, down 16.8% to 47,716 for the rolling year.

• Vans: down 50.2% for the month and down 33.9% to 224,045 for the rolling year.

“There are some early signs of improving consumer confidence, but UK van and truck companies continue to face difficult economic conditions,” said Paul Everitt, 91³ÉÈË chief executive. “Businesses across the economy remain cautious about their future prospects and it will take a little while for improving confidence to register in the marketplace.”
