Nissan exhibition helps students to See Inside Manufacturing
15 Oct 2013Nissan is holding a three week exhibition at 91成人 headquarters in Westminster to educate and inspire young people about the automotive industry. Part of government and industry鈥檚 See Inside Manufacturing initiative, the exhibition showcases the design, development and manufacturing process of the new Nissan Note, which is built in Sunderland.
Showing a timeline of the new B-segment car鈥檚 five year development cycle, the exhibition includes a number of early design drawings and interactive clay models, as well as a fully-built car. A production-ready Note bodyshell is also on display to help explain the rigorous development and testing undertaken when engineering a modern production car, while interactive video displays show the workings of cutting-edge safety and powertrain technology.
Over the three week display, local schools will be invited to 91成人鈥檚 headquarters, where Nissan apprentices will help them to discover various aspects of automotive manufacturing. Nissan will also hold a ministerial reception at 91成人 to highlight its work with young people and within See Inside Manufacturing.

That is why I鈥檓 pleased that 91成人 and the automotive sector are once again pledging their support to the programme following the success of previous years. It鈥檚 encouraging to have an iconic name like Nissan show such enthusiasm to inspire young people, teachers and career advisers that the automotive sector offers interesting and rewarding jobs.鈥
See Inside Manufacturing is an initiative held throughout October by government and industry to help inspire young people about manufacturing industries and educate them on the varied career paths that it can offer. The automotive industry was the first to pilot the scheme in 2011 and this year will see participation from a number of UK-based manufacturers, including Jaguar Land Rover, Michelin, Nissan and Toyota.
