May’s engine figures show the ninth successive month of decline in output, reflecting a similar downward trend in UK car and van production. To preserve the future of the UK’s critical engine manufacturing industry, we urgently need a ‘no deal’ Brexit to be ruled out once and for all and to secure a future relationship that maintains free and frictionless trade with our key export markets.
